Itinerary Details
Day - 1     Arrival in Delhi

Distant India Journeys representatives will receive you on arrival at the international airport in Delhi. Transfer to your hotel. Relax. DELHI, the capital of kingdoms and empires is now a sprawling metropolis with a fascinating blend of the past and the present. It is a perfect introduction to the composite culture of an ancient land.  A window to the kaleidoscope - that is India. Overnight will be at Delhi.

Day - 2     Delhi – Leh by flight

After breakfast transfer to airport to board your flight for Leh. On arrival at Leh airport you will be met & greet by Distant India Journeys representative. He will take you to your hotel for check in. 
Rest of the day is free for relaxation and acclimatization. This is essential to get accustomed at such high elevations. In the evening, one can explore the hued markets of Leh. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day - 3     Leh – Shey – Thiksey – Hemis

Relish a sightseeing tour to visit some primeval monasteries on this day.

In the beginning of 17th century AD, Deldan Namgyal constructed Shey Palace. 12-meter high Shakyamuni Buddha Statue is the prominent attraction of Shey. This statue is located inside Dresthang Gompa. Thiksey Gompa is positioned at a distance of 17 kilometres from Leh and is near to Shey. This monastery is counted among the most beautiful monasteries of Laddakh. Thiksey Monastery belongs to Gelukspa order. At the distance of 45 kilometres from Leh is situated the well-known Hemis Monastery, which is one of the largest and most popular monasteries in Laddakh. Hemis Monastery belongs to Drukpa order and it was constructed in early 17th century. Long Mani walls fronts the monastery cosseted in striking valley fringed by radiant streams.

Overnight will be in Hemis.

Day - 4     Leh – Khardung La – Nubra Valley (125 kms/5-6 hrs)

After breakfast, take a drive to Nubra Valley. Cross the world's highest motor able pass Khardung la (18,380.fts). Visit the striking valley known for the primeval Caravan route to Central Asia and to Kashgar and Yarkand, the path was also known as the treaty road. Nubra means the valley of flowers.

Overnight stay at Guest House/Camp.

Day - 5     Nubra Valley – Leh via Sumoor Gompa

Today we drive back to Leh via Sumoor Gompa after breakfast. On arrival in Leh, check into your hotel and relax. Overnight will be in Leh.

Day - 6     Leh Monastery Tour

This day is meant for visiting several places. After breakfast, visit Spituk Gompa, Pathar Sahib, Kali Mata, Magnetic Hill, Confluence of Zanskar – Indus river and Hall of fame. Overnight will be in Leh.

Day - 7     Leh – Pangong – Leh

After breakfast, take a drive to Pangong Lake through Changla pass (5486 Mts.). While climbing Changla pass, enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the villages below the pass. After crossing the pass, halt for picnic lunch at Tsoltak, which is the summer grazing land of the yaks. Reach Durbuk, from where a short drive will take you to the western shore of the Lake. Relish the panorama on the backdrop of the lake. The famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms broad and over 144 Kms long with half of it running the other side of the "INDO CHIANA BORDER". One hardly ever feels so close to nature and background as the scenery is remarkable.

Later drive back to Leh. Overnight will be in Leh.

Day - 8     Leh – Delhi by flight

Transfer to Leh Airport to board your flight for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, check into your hotel and relax.

Overnight will be in Delhi.

Day - 9     Delhi – Depart

Start a half day sightseeing of Delhi.

A sightseeing tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting the Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India and the drive past to Red Fort - once the most opulent fort and palace of the Mughal Empire.

A sightseeing tour of New Delhi would include a visit to the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, the President’s Residence, and a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave.

Later transfer to airport to board your flight back home with sweet memories of India...
